Better is always the right choice.

We constantly search for better and safer innovations with a lower environmental impact without compromising on efficacy. Therefore, our in-house Research and Development team makes sure that we stay at the forefront of clean, natural and performative products.
We ensure that our labs develop formulations with a maximum concentration of natural origin ingredients. For our nail polish, we use botanicals and fermented biotech innovations from plants such as cassava, sugar cane, corn, and wheat to create a unique, high-performance formula. Our goal is to create fully natural formulas for all of our products. Some of our products are already 100% natural today. In respect to all living beings, our products are always plant-based, cruelty-free and PETA-approved.

We don’t meet standards, we set them.

Our gitti formula standards are stricter than current EU regulations. We believe in the quality,  performance and safety of our products, and this comes down to only using carefully selected ingredients. Our labs follow a strict “no” list of more than 3,000 harmful, aggressive or controversial ingredients. Our nail polish is 30-free, meaning we have removed 30 nail polish ingredients that have come under scrutiny for safety, irritation, or sustainability or are known to be problematic. While we are not alone in banning the most controversial ones like formaldehyde, sulphonamides, and tert-butyl hydroperoxide, some of the mainstream nail formulas available in the US still use ingredients like hydroquinone, which is banned in the EU and benzophenone, which has long-term toxicity concerns. In addition, we never use animal-derived and non-cruelty-free ingredients, as well as petrochemical-based solvents.

These are the 30 ingredients that we exclude from our nail polish.

We don’t include ingredients on our 30-free list that would never appear in nail polish to begin with. And, instead of naming single ingredients of a chemical group to achieve a higher number, we name and exclude ingredient groups.

We take responsibility for our planet.

We are aware of our responsibility towards the environment and are 100% committed to positive change. Therefore, we implement strict measures along the entire value chain to minimize our environmental impact.
Already since 2020, we are CO₂ neutral and offset our emission through compensation. We select responsible product designs that align with our Conscious Circle of “reduce, reuse, recycle”. This means that we constantly strive to reduce our packaging to the absolute minimum. We are working on refillable solutions so that our packaging can be reused several times and we choose recycled materials wherever we can and make sure all of our products are easily recyclable.
For the packaging of our products, we use a combination of glass, aluminum, recycled or mono material plastic. If the product comes in a folding box, it is always made from 100% recycled and recyclable paper. The majority of the labels on our nail colors are made from the plant-based material sugarcane ethanol, which is produced organically. All of our shipping material is made from 100% recyclable and/or FSC-certified cardboard.
However, as some components have not yet been developed to the point where recycled materials can ensure the quality needed for beauty products, we're developing innovative solutions and testing alternatives so that we can use more recycled materials in the future.
